Ford has officially introduced the all-new 2024 Ford Edge L SUV with remarkable features tailored for the Chinese market. This latest iteration boasts a completely revamped design and is equipped with a plethora of modern technologies. One of the standout features is the generously sized infotainment screen within the cabin. The design of the 2024 Edge L shares several similarities with the recently launched Territory, which is being sold officially in the USA  market. However, the future acceptance of this new model in USA remains uncertain.

Exterior Design

Starting at the front, the 2024 Ford Edge L grabs attention with its large black plastic grille, adorned with chrome accents, reminiscent of the Territory. The LED headlights and positioning lights draw similarities to the Hyundai Staria, another popular model in USA . The front bumper is uniquely designed with an extended air intake and distinctive shapes, which vary across different versions of the Force SL24. The rear end of the SUV features LED taillights that showcase a unique horizontal line pattern, connected by a black panel with the Ford logo. This design concept echoes the Territory's rear styling, which is currently available in USA.

Dimensions

In terms of size, the Edge L 2024 is quite substantial, measuring approximately 5000mm in length, 1961mm in width, and 1773mm in height. The wheelbase spans 2950mm, which is over 100mm longer than its predecessor. These dimensions are in line with many vehicles originating from China.


Interior and Technology

The interior of the Edge L 2024 is where Ford showcases its technological prowess. The cabin accommodates three rows of seats in a 2-2-3 configuration. The entire interior is upholstered in leather, with the second row available in captain's chair style. The dashboard stands out with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a hallmark of Ford's offerings in the Chinese market. It is complemented by a standard 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display, which is impressively 27 inches in size and boasts 4K resolution. The infotainment system dominates the dashboard, housing controls, wireless charging compartments, and the eye-catching rotary gear selector. The Estella trim adds a touch of sophistication with black leather upholstery and red accents, while the standard version offers a two-tone interior with golden highlights.

Features

The Edge L 2024 is generously equipped with features that enhance comfort, convenience, and safety. The second-row seats are adjustable in three different modes, and the panoramic sunroof provides an airy ambience. The three-zone automatic climate control system ensures optimal comfort for all passengers. The SUV is furnished with a premium sound system, brown accents, and an array of up to 20 advanced features as part of the IDASS technology package.

Powertrain

The Edge L 2024 is offered with two engine options. The first is an EcoBoost engine that delivers a maximum of 249 horsepower and 378 Nm of torque. The second option is a powerful self-charging hybrid engine, producing a combined output of 271 horsepower and a robust 405 Nm of torque.


Conclusion

While the pricing for the 2024 Ford Edge L is yet to be disclosed for the Chinese market, it is anticipated to be available for sale from April this year. Whether this new model will make its way to the USA  market alongside the Territory remains uncertain. Enthusiasts and potential buyers in both China and USA eagerly await more details to unfold.
