Starting with the standard version, the front grille features a soft hexagonal design with a multi-point chrome grille. The headlights are a new two-tier system with LED daytime running lights positioned above the main LED headlights. The front end of the Ford Edge 2023 showcases a central air intake with a black gloss trim, connected to the corner air intakes.
Unique design elements include the black gloss trim on the door pillars and window surrounds. The door handles are subtly integrated into the body, and the standard variant comes with 20-inch wheels with a dual-tone, multi-spoke design.
At the rear, the Ford Edge 2023 presents a large, connected array of LED taillights with an F logo between the tailgate and the lights. The rear design includes two-tone coloring and silver "L" accents on the corners. The ST-Line version comes with a more athletic appearance, featuring a black gloss grille, front and rear black gloss diffusers, and larger 21-inch wheels with a twin-tone, five-spoke design.
In terms of dimensions, the Ford Edge 2023 measures approximately 5000mm in length, 1961mm in width, 1773mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2950mm. This represents a 100mm increase in wheelbase over its predecessor, even surpassing the Toyota Highlander.
Inside the 2023 Ford Edge, the highlight is the massive 27-inch touchscreen on the dashboard. This expansive screen combines a digital instrument cluster, a center touch screen, and an entertainment display for front passengers. The steering wheel is sportily designed, and the elongated air vents run across the dash. The center console houses the infotainment controls, wireless charging, and electronic gear selector. The second-row seats are unique, designed as weightless seats with heating, ventilation, and 60-degree recline features. A folding armrest in the middle row integrates wireless charging and storage, which can be folded up to create a pathway to the rear seats.
For the front two seats, there's a separate climate control panel. The standard version comes with light-colored leather interior with copper accents on the air vents and stitching. The ST-Line, on the other hand, features a black leather interior with contrasting red accents.
Regarding powertrain options, Chinese customers can choose between two engines. The first is a 2.0-liter turbocharged EcoBoost 4-cylinder gasoline engine producing up to 252 horsepower and 378 Nm of torque. The second option is a hybrid powertrain, combining a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with an electric motor for a combined output of 275 horsepower and 405 Nm of torque. The 2023 Ford Edge also offers a 4WD system and various driving modes. The average fuel consumption is around 6.3 liters per 100 kilometers.
It's still uncertain whether Ford will offer this model in other markets. The second-generation Ford Edge has been available in North America and Europe since 2015, with a facelift in 2019. The exact pricing for the Ford Edge 2023 has not been disclosed yet. As per the plan, the Ford Edge 2023 is set to debut at the Shanghai Auto Show in China in April this year.
